Curriculum Vitae
Marwan Francis is the Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor, at the Embassy of Lebanon to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in London, since February 2018.
He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from American University of Beirut (1997), a Masters in Business Administration from the École supérieure des Affaires de Beyrouth (2000), and a Masters in International Security & Diplomacy from the University of East Anglia, London Academy of Diplomacy (2013).
Prior to his current posting Mr Francis served as Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations, in New York (2015- 2018). He also headed the Consular Section, at the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Beirut (2012-2015). He previously served at the Embassy of Lebanon to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in London (2009-2012) in his capacity as First Secretary. He was Second Secretary at the Embassy of Lebanon to the United States of America, in Washington D.C. (2005-2009). Mr Francis joined the Lebanese Foreign Service in 2003 as a career diplomat.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service Marwan had worked, in the private sector, for Deloitte & Touche Saba & Co, the National Bank of Kuwait and Blom Bank SAL.
