The Launch of The RELIEF Centre at The British Museum

The Ambassador of Lebanon spoke on April 24, 2018 at the launch of the RELIEF Centre at the British Museum, which was attended by over 300 delegates, including UCL President and Provost, Professor Michael Arthur. Based at the UCL Institute of Global Prosperity (IGP) and led by its Director, Professor Henrietta Moore, the RELIEF Centre will bring together academics from a number of UCL departments, the American University of Beirut and the Centre for Lebanese Studies. The Centre’s members will have expertise in sustainable prosperity, economics, engineering, internet technology, anthropology and sociology, urban design and education and will explore how to build prosperous societies in communities affected by mass displacement such as in Lebanon. H.E. Rami Mortada, in his speech, explained the unique pressures being placed on Lebanon by mass displacement and the country's special position within the Middle East.
